Son Grúa is a luxury agritourism located in the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana, in an estate of 267 ha with oak and pine forests, carob trees, olive trees, fruit trees, orchard and sheep. The house is surrounded by a magnificent centenary garden of 12.000 m2.

The farmhouse has 13 double rooms. For the exclusive use of the guests, Son Grúa has four lounges and a porch by the swimming pool. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The gastronomy is mainly Mediterranean.

The interior blends the character of the Mallorcan “possesio” with the comfort of modern furnishings. In the last century, Son Grúa was a meeting place for artists such as Anglada Camarasa. The paintings in the different rooms are reminiscent of that time.

The luxury is to enjoy an estate, the space and the silence, it is to feel unique and special thanks to the personalized services.

THE GARDEN

One of the main characteristics at Son Grua is the magnificent garden designed in 1918 by the current owner’s paternal great-uncle and the famous Spanish painter Anglada Camarasa.

Within an area of 12.000 sqm, guests will find quiet spaces ideal for reading and relaxation. Nights in the garden are extraordinary as one can contemplate from a marvelous full moon to a sky full of stars illuminating the valley.

ACCOMODATION

The guest rooms have been completely refurbished with quality materials, stylishly decorated with modern and classic furniture, and paintings from the  Pollensa School which create ample and comfortable spaces where our clients will enjoy beautiful views of the garden, the pool area and the mountains. All of this is accompanied by a personalised, family-like treatment to make your stay in the estate more enjoyable.

UNIQUE SPACES

Our wish is that our clients find Son Grua to be a place of peace and tranquility  where they can discover special corners indoors and outdoors. Inside the house there are spacious lounges with heaters and fireplaces as well as common areas opened to the stone-paved central patio, known in Mallorca as “clastra”. In the lush gardens there are numerous paths with benches where one can relax and contemplate the silent sunrises and bright sunsets, listen to the bleating of a flock of sheep or the sound of birds. For the more active guests we can also suggest short excursions inside the estate where they will be the only hikers.

HISTORY

The origin of the property dates back to Arab times in what used to be a farmhouse and where one can still see the aqueduct and remains of canalizations that were used to water the cultivated land. After the Christian conquest of Mallorca, the estate has been owned by numerous Mallorcan landowners and since the 19th century it has belonged to the Villalonga family
